Steel Pins- An Overview

A pin is a piece of equipment or instrument used for binding objects or materials together. Pins frequently have two components comprising a long body and sharp tip made of steel, or sometimes copper and brass, and a larger head often made of plastic. The sharpened body penetrates the material while the larger head provides a driving surface. Pins are formed with the help of a thin wire, sharpening the tip, and adding a head. Nails that are used for hammering objects are interrelated but are characteristically larger in their size. In the field of machinery and engineering, pins are normally used as pivots, hinges, shafts, jigs, and fixtures to locate or hold parts.
